Amongst the many species kept and bred, of particular note is Terry's success with various Uromastyx species. A group of lizards that have increased in popularity in recent times but remain something of a challenge in captivity. Their needs should be thoroughly understood before they are taken on. BUT with proper care they can be one of the most fascinating of species to keep. It should be stressed that these are not prolific animals and numbers are always limited. Don't be fooled by inferior and parasite ridden wild caught animals, offered for sale in some shops, as captive bred. Uromastyx are protected under the CITES regulations and should not be taken commercially from the wild. Terry is always pleased to offer advice and guidance to prospective purchasers - but for these animals, prepare to be "vetted"!!! Perhaps the greatest surprise about them is how beautiful they can be. Below is a picture of the Ornate Uromastyx (Uromastyx ocellatus ornata).
